Ho bona kobo-tata hobona! this picture attempts to capture (but i believe does not do the entire gathering justice) the magnitude of the ABC seboka. I was there full force and i can tell you i was flabbergasted. How can this four-month old party have so many supporters in such a short space of time? then it struck me just hoe desperate Basotho are for change...ha se fela Mosisili a sa robaleng. Joale ka mane ka Public Eye forum ma LCD are lying their pants off with the follwing allegations: (1) 40%/30% of the crowd at ABC rally e ne e le bana ba under 18 (2) these youngsters were given joala and lithethefatsi! molimo i was there i guess i missed the part where Tom Thabane was handing out beer and drugs to the youth (sies! such lies)those youth and adults who came with their beers were not told to do so, they are adults they can make their own choices and also they were not unruly...just in a celebratory mood...nothing wrong with that... (3) re ne re entertain batho ka libini which we imported from RSA i guess Ts'epo Ts'ola, Bhudaza, Selomo and Chakela ha se bana ba Basotho! ooee! (4) we had this massive sound system (and that's part of the reason why people came!)ache banna ke akhela towel
LCD and its members should really stop spreading this type of propaganda...it's really annoying.
And i would like to alert members of the forum that i know a few people (two to be precise) whose names are missing from the voter's roll. Thsi begs the question: how many names are missing from the voter's roll nationally and at this eleventh hour? is this a strategy adopted by the IEC/LCD to disenfranchise bana ba Basotho? ooee! just bear this in mind as we go for the election on Saturday
Khele, seboka sa kobotata se ne se memehile he! I hope this will translate to a change of government after 17/02/2007. I may not be Kobotata supporter, but we probably need it as a vehicle to get rid of Mosisili and his cohorts.
Thope, so what is ABC's program of action after toppling LCD?
I have some funny feeling that BNP might be dark-horses in this race. Off-course the assumption is that the split has not affected them and that they have not lost supporters to Kobotata.
Anyway,i think the most likely scenario is Kobotata forming an alliance with BNP in parliament. If this coalition is big enough, they might be able to dislodge LCD from its position as the ruling party. The coalition is not far-fetched given that BNP and ABC seem to share a lot of views and programs of implementation.
Tom and the Major General seemed to share a lot of views and opinions during their interviews at Convention Centre on 10/02/2007. I thought this was quite interesting....
Nkokoto i agree with you that the General and Tom might have some common ground and this could be utilised to marginalise the LCD in Parliament...i am 100% for this strategy (in fact i think the ABC will need to form a coalition with the BNP) just this morning i was informed that a police officer was not able to vote at 'Manthabiseng Convention Center because his name just disappeared from the roll. O tsebe motho enoa has his voter registration card and his passport (just in case) and all of a sudden it disappeared. Now Nkokoto by nature i'm not a violent person nor do i advcate violent behaviour fela ke ea o hlapanyetsa...come Saturday and my name has disappeared there'll be hell to pay! now i think what must be done is to gather as many names as possible of people whose names have disappeared on election day and submit this list of purged voters to the international observers. I still have a friend whose name is missing as we speak but he had registered...another colleague says her name only appeared maobane when she called the IEC and gave them **** joale won't the same name disappear? ke hore IEC/LCD li ea meneka ruri ha e le popular support eona they no longer have it!
Nkokoto i doubt BNP will be dark horses but i see them playing one heck of a crucial role (as mentioned above) they still have support but they have lost quite a number of people to ABC (i'm friends with many of them and they are playing a major role in ABC as we speak i see ABC and BNP developing a fruitful "frienship"...of course we all know that this "friendship" will not be permanent such being the nature of politics but it must be exploited for all its worth to get rid of the CCMW's (still remember that phrase ea Thabo? reminds me of the good old days in the Public Eye forum)
Guys, much as I also believe that ABC will make it but I think education did not really reacdh supporters well concerning lets'oao la Workers party and my feeling is for those people who cannot read/write they might end up ba khetha khoeetsa, what do you think of this, Thope?
