Hona he ke ho bitsa bohlanya of the highest order. Sono ke batho ba tlotla bakhetha LCD 'nete ea ruri! how do they justify it? and no i don't buy this excuse ea hore it's the ignorant people in the villages who vote for these buggers...hona mahaeng moo hona le batho bahlaketsoeng who would never vote for LCD under any circumstances...hobaneng bona? i just don't buy it ebe bona what kind of epiphany have they had that their fellow villagers didn't have? ache ke bona eka it's a matter of being scared of change and this affliction is not confined to so-called village people even peeps in the urban areas can disappoint with their lack of dynamism. Like you once said Nkokoto "You get the leaders/govt that you deserve" in a nutshell that's all i can say ka rona le our electoral choices...even ABC (if there was more effective opposition) would not ordinarily be my first choice although i must confess i actually think Tom Thabane (in spite of allegations against him) is actually a good politician (the operative word being "politicia") is there a leadership contigency plan for the ABC, TT is getting on in terms of years, who in 5 yrs time will lead the ABC when TT retires?

I hope to God ABC wins really i can't handle the thought of 5 more yrs with the Wabenzis...i just can't and ke le joetse there's no way i'm staying in Lesotho if LCD wins...i'm off and out if they win seriously i'll emigrate so fast it won't be funny...i actually have a contingecy plan in place just waiting to be dusted off and implemented if these stooges actually get re-elected...okay enough venting or today..take care

ITF, Boemo, Thabo, Libuseng, Hlabahlabane et al please guys where are you all exactly? come back we need you around these parts

ITF when are coming back hantle?

What do you say ka taba tsa Minister Nts'inyi? she bought the Merc for 4 grand and now she's selling it for 256 grand!!!!! her response is "It's nobody's business but her own" ITF i wish you were here to listen for yourself mahlapa a Ntate Mosisili and the lies and propaganda...it's eye-popping stuff i tell you i mean half the time i can't believe that these people have stooped this low. I personally do not know who's gonna win (i mean how can one predict?) but really if there was any justice in the world Mosisili and Co would be so gone...Basotho will decide (at least those whose names are on the voter's roll, ba bang mabitso ha a hlahe especially the newly registered voters the question is why? are they being targeted ka kutloisiso ea hore they are going to vote ABC? i don't know it's all cloak 'n dagger stuff...James Bond would be proud!)

Take care guys...oh by the way ITF you can get in touch with me on tebohozwane@yahoo.co.uk (and all of you fine people of the forum)

i must say since i put my e-mail address on the forum i've been getting letters from people claiming to be related to Sani Abacha/Mobutu Sese Seko and would i help them move these stashes of money from this bank account to the other (and for my troubles i would get a cut of the loot...naturally... but before i do this i would need to part with my own hard-earned cash!!!!) i just told them to go to hell but guess what? i'm getting even more mail from these guys....ha ha ha...they don't call me Thope for nothing if these stooges think i'm gonna fall for these scams well they ain't seen nothin yet!

Hela baheso, once again, Lumelang hee. Yeah I had a very funny Nu Yerr. I was with some of my friends here have some beer not Samogon. He he..!!
Mr Nkokoto, tell me, cos I think there is an anti-corruption kinda organisation in our country. Na e ikemetse kapa its controlled by the government. coz it would certainly be dealing with such Bobolu. Ke utluile hore Imperial has secured another three year contract. Well I think that is very good so we will see what will Ntate Thabane do we the cars when the lease-back contract ends.

And, Thope I have sent u a mail just now so I guess u have read it already.
I pray to God that TT wins, coz frankly speaking, Ntate Bethuel has proven that he is not capable. But I think Ntate TT was a bit late to making his own party but he is seemingly the one who can do the job, as he says. But my complaint is TT has been in government for long and he has never been very active except recently. Well they say "Ho robala ke ho fetoha" but I think he has been sleeping too long then, if thats the case.

Stolichnaya used to be Russia's highest quality vodka but now there are other famous like "Russkii Standard", "Putinka" (named after ntate Vladimir the President) and a few others. The words Stolichnaya means " ..of the Capital City". Stolits'a meaning Capital City.

To be honest re tena re tlo khetha ABC tjena hobane re tennoe ke Bethuele. Time will tell if TT will live up to his promises (that is if he actually wins this election) this election is a tough one to call...talk about a nail-biting finish! ITF lenna ke rapella hore ABC e hlole bo-Mosisili ba tsebe hoea teronkong (that is truly where they belong)

Soon we will know and if LCD wins i'm leaving this country (obviously not immediately after the result is announced but i'll be making definite plans...i just can't stomach the thought of another 5 years ea bohlanya bona!)

On a "lighter" note there's a party eo ho thoeng ke ea likoata. The leader of this party (which i forget hore na e bitsoang) used to work in the mines. Anyway he was on TV Lesotho recently "campaining" he told us that his party ke ea likoata (batho basebetsang li-mineng, basali le bana ba bona) joale a re the most important thing that his party is going to do (if they win the elections) is to completely abolish the LRA, not only that anything LRA whether its a sticker, a poster, any LRA information bulletin ka hara naha will be removed!!!!ha ha ha ha...imagine if he was to become PM of this country we would be in trouble! oh and he says he wants to rename sepolesa to Bubi Police (styled on the Scorpions!) i wonder how many votes he's going to get?...

nkokoto said...

guys you had me in stitches...first Thope with the 419 scams (messages) she has been receiving. Secondly, the Bubi Police being suggested by Lesotho Miners Party (whatever they call themselves. Lastly, to hear that Putin is also behaving like African leaders, who have everything named after them.

Anyway, ITF, I know that there is a Directorate of Anti-Corruption in Lesotho. I am not sure what the full name of this organisation is. My view is that it has been very ineffective. Otherwise many of the top ranking government officials would be in jail as we speak, including those who are now members of Kobo-tata.

Helang, ke qeta ho bala litaba mona ho mail.ru ke utla bare Lesotho ho fumanoe taemane ea 216 carat, the cleanest of all diamonds ever found.

"Лесото найден алмаз безупречной чистоты"

http://www.vz.ru/news/2007/2/5/67279.html

Well I dont know much about this coz I tried to check some websites tsa hae mono but there aint such info.

Anyway, I would like to ask once again ka khoebo ena ea litaemane. If I remember well, our government has about 30 Percent share in the company thats mining in our country now. Thas that mean this foreign company guys just come and take our diamond just like that..?? Who signed such a contract? I think it could have been better if we just let those diamonds remamin there than to give them out for free.. Hmm..!!

Well as for party ea likoata, I dont have any comment coz le lebitso la teng says it all. First lets ask about his educational background, and thats the conclusion of course.

But so far, that Putinka Vodka is the only thing I know it has been named after him unlike Lenin, u know in every city there is atleast one street named after Ntate Lenin, I mean in every given city he he he..!!

Helang update ka Miner's Party aka Ea Likoata...ITF motho enoa used to work in the mines and was retrenched. The latest i hear from my colleagues ka Likoata Party ke hore bare they are going to gather ALL Basotho banang le HIV/AIDS and quarantine them just like batho ba lepera (oh my gosh!!! am i dreaming or what? and this guy is being subsidised ke IEC ka khafa tsa rona?) i'm just wondering if Ntate Bubi Police has ever had an HIV test maybe he'll discover hore he'll be one of the people who are going to be quarantined! ha ha ha ha. Hape o re he doesn't want any relationship whatsoever with RSA ha! as if he had a choice in the matter. And guess what? party symbol e tlotla e hlaha on the ballot paper? monna ea ts'oereng le rumo ea hlabang e mong ka lona ebile ke utloa eka bare ebile o monts'a mala (haeba this is true che lekhale Basotho re ea kae?)ho thoe mala ana a symbolisa chelete ea the miners ba Lesotho e jooeng ke RSA mining companies...guys i really think this is FUNNY! but i hope he doesn't win even ka PR.

ITF the Minister responsible for Natural Resources ke monghali Moleleki (at the time of the deal with De Beers anyway akere joale o se a le Foreign) ntle le mono obviously the whole Cabinet approved it 'moho le ma-Paramente (so all of them one way or another ba rekisitse naha...meleko!) i agre with you ITF rather wait for a better deal (if you can't finance it yourself) rather that to just give the diamonds away. But do they care bo-Moleleki ho hoholo ke ho thungoa ka thipa...che se!

Nkokoto i was conversing with a former classmate of mine who works for the Anti-Corruption Directorate...he confirmed what you and ITF are saying...it is grossly ineffective otherwise most of these buggers would be in jail and yes you are right even bana ba ABC...ke o joetse Nkokoto... ABC... some of us are going to elect it not because we like it but because re batla ho tlosa LCD (i know it's a pathetic reason and we might live to regret it)

I'll provide regular updates on the Miner's Party...at least they are providing some comic relief..hey we need it!

Does anyone of you know any tangible connection (besides the letter written by public eye editor)between LCD government and Public eye. Public eye is the main source of news about Lesotho on the internet, and then I compiled a lot of stuff that LCD government has done (reported by the very public eye and others) and sent them to the public eye forum. The funny thing is that each time, they keep deleting them .

Here are some of them.
There is a saying that goes like "never argue with a man who cannot listen to reason and lacks logic. He will pull you down to his level and then beat you up with experience of lacking both reason and logic." I am made to understand that monghali Manyeli has won the case against LCD trying to hijack NIP (Congress trying a marriage with National - honourable Mosisili said the two do not go together or are they opposites attracting one another now?) and LCD is planning to go for an appeal. Is this true? If it is true then it sounds so funny! Is LCD that desperate? Oh, by the way monghali Makata and monghali Habo monna ke hohle who have been arguing that ABC have no followership can you visit the following site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/toalatsa/ Someone has been kind enough to put some rally photos there. No wonder why the honourable PM is doing and saying strange things lately. Monghali Manoeli, LCD is still the government -we still have 10 days before the elections- Being the ruling party it is still their duty to make sure that there is peace during the coming weekend's rallies irrespective of parties involved. If the LCD government fails to ensure peace it will be yet another proof that LCD is incompetent and ineffective -well unless you argue that being ruled by LCD is like having no government at all where lunatics can do whatever they like.

Thabo here are the last points you requested - I hope they do not disappear in a flash again. 21. LCD leadership and followers have constantly complained about oppression during the BNP regime. Indeed during the BNP regime the military could be ordered to do anything whatsoever and they even controlled the so called 'free elections'. Is it due to short sight or lack of logic that today when people are going for elections the LCD leader honorable Mosisili has repeatedly said that now he is the chaiman of SADC and has power to call on SADC forces anytime by so doing threatening ordinary people from freely attending the rallies and voting for a party of their choice because everybody in Lesotho still remembers what happened when the very PM and his officials called on the SANDF in the name of SADC to kill innocent Basotho. Rather than BNP which relied on the smaller and weaker PMU the LCD leader honourable Mosisili bravely tells the nation that he could call a bigger and more powerful force to do exactly the same job. Is is not lack of logic that LCD leadership and followers fail to connect the two oppressive regimes? 22. Talking of the BNP regime, the LCD leadership and follwers have even went to the extent of stating that BNP did things in halves picking the only national stadium in the country as an example. Is it short sight or lack of logic that makes LCD leadership fail to realise that they themselves failed neither to finish what was started by what they referred to as a weaker government nor start something even bigger as they regard themselves stronger and open minded. That the whole world is playing professional footbal through which people earn a living which alleaviates poverty yet ours is still ameature football despite the so high unemployment rate and the complain about lackof resources in the country. Don't they feel ashamed of comparing the amount of money that teams in Lesotho compete for while they paid more than M500 000 in three years for a Merc for each minister's personal possesion? 23. As if adding the salt to the wound made by BNP during its era where people were hired through 'liphephechana' the LCD leadership decided that their government will be ruled by families where if a man becomes a minister then his wife becomes the PS or vice-versa, eg honourable Malie, honourable Sekatle, honourable Popane etc even going up to notshi e kholo the honourable Mosisili himself where even marrrying to his family or being a member of his family seems to be a licence to be sent to the embassies outside the country. Is this logical or what? 24. Is it short sight or lack of logic that even before the Merc scandal settles down the LCD government is already buying the new top of the range cars for their officials, while children whose parents are jobless as well as orphans whose parents are dying or are dead due to the ruthless HIV/AIDS who were promised school fees are still at home dying of hunger and starvation and having no school fees. Why would the LCD government not even wait for elections to pass if it is not because of short sight or lack of logic, what more would they do if the win elections? 25. Never before in Lesotho, despite how weak the previous governments have been, has it happened that sick people going to hospitals or clinics have been sent back home given the reason that intake for the day has already been reached. Since when does the number of patients exceed a hospitals daily intake or to be specific, since when do government hospitas have a limited daily intake of patients? This happens only during the LCD government where ministers and high ranking government officials themselves go to private hospitas like Thetsane, Hyrodomed in Bloemfontein etc to pay skyrocketing cost for minor treatment using public funds. If this is not short sight or lack of logic, then what is it? 26. The LCD government officials when increasing their salaries and benefits they stated clearly that they want want to be on par with other countries, especially well-off countries. But the nation that elected them trusted them to put the country's development, employment rate and standard of living on par with other countries. Was it short sight or lack of logic that when they were filling their pockets non of them ever mentioned or warned them that they should be careful when they implement this greedy schemes? That other politicians will refer to these during campaign to elections which could be disastrous to their credibility? 27. In Mafeteng LCD minister Mathabiso Lepono in the presence of her LCD leader honorable Mosisili stated clearly that LCD government ministers and high ranking official have no time to go to their constituencies to attend to the needs and problems of ordinary people. If the LCD government accepts that it is not attending to the needs of the nation that elected them to power, then whose needs are they attending to? Was is it short sight or lack of logic that let minister Mathabiso Lepono to say these things? And is it due to short sight or lack of logic that some people still insist on following such a government or are they the people who are benefitting from these unethical behaviours? 28. Is it short sight or lack of logic that the LCD government as well as its followers keep repeating time and again that once they have intended to do something, it does not matter how much noise the nation makes while crying when they as the government have decided to cut a tree they will cut it claiming that ba se ba beile selepe metsong so it is useless to cry, but they also keep repeating that they stand for puso ea sechaba ka sechaba. Which nation do they refer to? Don't they compare what they are doing to incidences in the book called Animal Farm? Was this by coincidence or by design that there are so many similarities between what happens in that book and the way the LCD government rules? That all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others? 29. When asked to state their achievements, the LCD government and followers state that it is only the blind who cannot see what they have done (well indeed they did a lot of destruction). When asked to say it out loud and clear so that even the blind man can hear, they argue that the blind man won't hear and say that everybody should see with their own eyes. So they have been doing all these mistaking the "patience" of Basotho with being "deaf and dumb" Is it short sight or lack of logic that the LCD government say they have achievements yet they do not know where they have succeeded that is besides filling their pockets and becoming millionares at the expense the poor and dying Basotho nation. 30. When pressed really hard to state their achievemets, the LCD governemnt using insultive language at times (not ashamed of calling it rich sesotho) say they have build roads and frequently changed the street lights in places where they live (or where the rich and the famous live) like Maseru west, where their illgotten vehicles can move well without being easily broken and where they argue that if there are no street lights then criminals would wait for them to take out the money filling their pockets which comes from the public coffers. They regard themselves as the better citizens of Lesotho so they deserve the best! At the same time out in the villages not far away from the town (because Lesotho is just too small) or in the rural areas people have to carry their sick and their dead with 'lilei' and 'likosekara' to very far away clinics or hospitals where upon arrival they are told that the clinic or hospital has reached its patient daily intake limit. Is it short sight or lack of logic that makes them unaware that in the villages there is no electricity, no phone lines, no water and daily lifes of people is in danger from the criminals who they themselves fear so much. But how could they see when Maseru itself is a shame to be refered to as the capital of the only country in Africa which ever defeated the British emprire let alone the boers in war and negotiation stratergies? Of course to someone from the rural areas or mountains who has never seen a tarred road or a two story building Maseru looks like heaven but to someone who attends university at UOFS just across the bridge would tell you that Maseru is smaller than their university compus and does not even understand why there is lack of water in it when Lesotho prides itself of abundance of water sources. 31. Is it short sihgt or lack of logic that when LCD governments tries to attempt to do a small part of what BNP government did with regard to agriculture, their expensive fertiizers reach farmers after the ploughing season? Wouldn't even a small child realise that you need fertilizer before putting plants into the soil? If the LCD leadership and government have short sight or lack logic where they even fail to see when they themselves are destroying their party with even minor things like going as law as using insults to the nation, banning Famo musicians as well as journalists and as many of their action suggest, are they capable of seeing up to the year 2020. If they fail to see beyond only a few days or a few months how can they talk about vision 2020. Was the writing of vision 2020 by the LCD government yet another wheel used to drive into enriching themselves when they might not even being in power by 2020? Remenber that in politics every party in power implements their strartegies and manisfestos not what is set by a different political party. If we as a nation are short sighted and also lack logic we certainly would elect similar rulers and never learn from eperience. Someone here once said it We desreve the leaders we elect. Any nation that has forseight will vote for leaders that have foresight! Lucky enough our elections are just around the conner to prove to us again what type of nation we are!

ABC won the appeal against NIP on 09/02/2007. Further to this NIP has replaced LCD on the "proportional representation" ballot paper. That was either bold or very stupid. Seemingly Kobotata also has a similar arrangement with Lesotho Workers Party. We really live in interesting times.

Fair comment about politics. Supposing politics and politicking are banned, how would you propose to run the country?
