"The Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Mr. Mokone Lehata says the public should not be intimidated by the presence of Botswana Defence Force (BDF) currently on training exercise in the country

Delivering a statement in the National Assembly on Thursday, Mr. Lehata said Lesotho and Botswana have a bilateral agreement which allows both countries' armies to engage in exchange training programmes where Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) hold their training camp in Botswana to expose themselves on desert places.

The Minister said in a similar manner, BDF also conducts their training in mountainous places in the country where they train on driving their vehicles on the country's rugged topology and flying over mountains.

He pointed out the government did not inform the Parliament and the public because they considered the exercise as a normal practice between the two countries and there was nothing serious about it"

Clearly Mr. Lehata, the deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's office has no clue how government and governance should work. How do you let a foreign army come into your country on a full military training exercise without parliament knowing about it. Should we also assume that LDF goes on inter-country training operations and possibly peace keeping missions without parliament knowing? Either him, his boss or both have no idea of the gravity of the matter. Ba bapalla mollong...

By the way, what qualifications do most of our government officials have. Or its still like it used to be, "Malome oa Ntate Moholo oa Rangoane oa Motsoala oaka ene e le setho sa mokha ona so le 'na I have the right to be a minister". Is their worth evaluated before they are elected, u think if u take a broke, Monnamoholo oa sehoai and make him a minister or whoever, will work fairly or all he will be looking for is every given chance to snatch the government money. I think the way some other countries are doing it is very correct that they take someone who is a bit rich, to some extend, who will not be looking forward to steal.
Do u realize how rich this guys are ha ba tloha litulong. Lere li million tse tsa liphallelo ntse li fella kae..!!

Its funny I was going thru the profiles of our maparamente, he he.. the guys former occupation is "farmer", "farmer" "farmer". How do u take a famer and and make him a minister.

Che hona hona ke ho ipeha fats'e hoa naha.

I know another story of one famous Radio Lesotho (then) present who was a very close friend with whoever took the government then, (hmm, lebitso la motho ke ponto) and ha se le khale haholo ha nthoena e etsahala. The guy has only "form 5" aka COSC, now morena ke ha a se a re o mo etsa ambasadara kakae Asia. Hee.. maAsia a mo phoka hampe a mo khutlisa bare na ke ambasadara ea mofuta ngoe e tsebang one plus one feela.
Che le ha ebe hothoe " 'metlakhola o lebisa ho oa hae" this was lack of thinking.

No hurt feeling to the honourables..
