Damned if he does, dmanned if he doesn't...that's the story of Tom Thabane and the Merc. I just want to know what people expect from Uncle Tom...at least he's showing remorse for the sleazy car scheme and his part in it...while others like bo-Moleleki tell us hore "Re tla le ts'ela ka le roele ha re ea likhethong re be re lihlole!!!!" joale the question is after uttering such an unfortunate and arrogant statement who the hell does he expect to elect him and his corrupt gang? oe? monna enoa u oa tella!

Thope, boits'oaro bona ba Ntate Moleleki ha bo qale hajoale. Bo tloha khale. There was a time when he was in hiding, gone AWOL, a balehile, this was shortly after the late Hon. Baholo's death. Mr. Moleleki used to write articles in one of the newspapers. He claimed that he was writing from KAMORA SEHLAHLA (behind the bush/shrub) in reference to his hiding place.
In one of the articles he said he did not give two hoots for having gone AWOL because he was still earning his monthly salary plus full allowances. How cheeky can one be!!! Ka likhafa tsa rona... Ke lumellana le uena, ke ho tella kapa hona ho fetella.

Ak'u shebe litaba tsena tse kileng tsa phatlalatsoa ke Public Eye ka Tlhakubele 2006:

"As headlined in Public Eye of 10 March 2006, a court case has been opened against three persons, 'Mamokete Motjope, 37, of Khubetsoana, Maseru, who is employed by the Ministry of Finance; Methe Pekeche, 61, of Masianokeng, who is employed in the Ministry of Communications; and Qamaka Ntsene, 45, of Kena, of the Lesotho Clothing and Allied Workers' Union.

It is alleged in the charge sheet that they unlawfully and intentionally published defamatory papers at Hleoheng in Leribe District and Ha Sekoati in Mohale's Hoek District on 20 January 2006 saying that `The Member of Parliament for Tsoelike, the Prime Minister, is having an adulterous relationship with the Member of Parliament for Qacha's Nek constituency, Pontso Sekatle, and on account of the adulterous relationship, Sekatle, the spouse of the said MP for Qacha's Nek constituency, has been rewarded by being appointed Principal Secretary'. The published papers, in a translation by the Crown, are alleged to have contained the words: `Pontso is a`bully' (domineering) all over, in cabinet, in the executive committee, at conferences, in parliament, at her homestead, in the ministry because the `Lion' of the Tsoelike constituency is having an adulterous affair with her'. The alternative charge is that the accused have injured, insulted and impaired the dignity of Mr Mosisili, leader of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy and his alleged lover, Mrs Sekatle. The Crown also alleges that the three persons also published that Monyane Moleleki, the Foreign Minister, had a sexual relationship with Mrs 'Mamoroke Lebesa, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, resulting in her husband, Mr Popane Lebesa, being appointed Minister of Public Works and Transport.

The case has been set down to be heard by Chief Magistrate Molefi Makara on 3 April 2006."

Ke ho tiisa litaba tsena tse buuoang ka Monghali Moleleki. Ke 'nete li sa le ka khotla, kahlolo ha e s'o oele, empa semphu-se-nkha-kae?

Ao che!Basotho! Do they really believe that Tom will bring any change. Never! He is as rotten as a month old potato. Why is he returning the car now.Its not like anyone was pointing a gun to his head to take the car in the first place. He must keep it for all I care. He deserves it, like the rest of his counterparts bo Mosisili who are busy wasting state money (hakere ba e ja re a tseba kaofela) on silly court cases of adultery.

Haeba le tseba Moleleki kapo le mo tloaetse le mo bolelle hore, Saddam, Charles Taylor the list is endless; they all thought they were invinsible, unfortunately that was not the case-he must watch the space. Le pele li na le baji!

'Makaliseng we all know Tom's weaknesses feela if you want bo-Moleleki et al to pay for what they have done to the people of this country surely we need a change in govt. and who in the foreseeable future will do that if not Tom's ABC? i say let's vote him in and take Moleleki et al to task...if bo-Moleleki return to power ka 2007 then re le Basotho ha bo rona ke naheng i'm telling you...joale ba tla fetella! ke nahana hore Tom will make a difference cause all eyes will be on him to make good on what he has promised...that's my belief it may be that i'm being naive but i'd rather ke busoe ke ena hona le bo-Mosisili

So ABC is guaranteed at least two votes in the coming elections? That is, those of Thope and ITF? I am not at all convinced that this guy will get us anywhere as a country.

Anyway, Thope, you being closer to the action (being resident in Lesotho) do you know what ABC is offering to Basotho? Has TT announced his manifesto to the nation? If so, can you please share it with us. Or at least let us know where we can find it and debate it here.

A "Tale of a Mercedes Benz" is the headline of an article published in the Public Eye of 21 November 2006. The full article can be visited at http://www.publiceye.co.ls/story.asp?id=128

It is interesting how grown up men can continuously ignore the truth. It really remains a mystery why Messrs Makhakhe and Sekhamane are pussyfooting about the ownership of the car. It really does not make sense why the government cannot provide simple answers to simple questions raised by the nation. Imperial might however be forgiven for their response because they owe only their shareholders an explanation.

If you ask me, the car is owned by Mr. Tom Thabane, the beneficiary of a crooked contract between government and Imperial Fleet Services (car leasing scam as it is better known). He paid M4,000.00 for the car. The car is still registered in his name. Change of ownership will only take place if there is someone willing to take over its ownership. Unfortunately, at this stage, the car is a hot potato, an embarassment to government, Imperial, Mr. Thabane and as well as his ABC supporters.

Like I have said before, it does not matter if he abandons it, burns it or gives it away. It will remain his property. He might show remorse but history has recorded his participation in the scam. It should haunt him for the rest of his life. This should be a lesson for him never again to commit a similar offence against Basotho.

As for all the other beneficiaries of the scam, they deserve nothing but anathema. At least Tom has shown some decency to acknowledge his misdeed.

Nkokoto (i thought you were goin to try convince me not to vote for Uncle Tom...don't tell me you have already given up cause i know you have salient reasons why you don't think that that is such a hot idea) anwyay ABC has a statement of principles (i'll bring them with on the 18th and will post them tomorrow for discussion) and a manifesto although i haven't quite laid my eyes on the manifesto myself but the principles i have) now another thing that they are seriously working on is the establishment of small policy committees made up of professionals who will work on the nitty gritties (because as we all know the devil is in the details) because rhetoric can only take you so far.

Nkokoto yeah you are right... Uncle Tom has played a part in the car scam but the best that he can do right now is to go into damage control mode and show his remorse by being the best leader that this country has ever seen (i know he can because if i were him i would want to prove my detractors wrong)

Actually makoloi ana ho hlakile hore ke a 'muso (and not Imperial)...ooee joale hobaneng ba hana hore ke a sechaba? banahana hore re bana? ache ntho e tjena ha ke so e bone!!!!!!!!!!

it is a high time that basotho must question number of things that the ruling party fails to explain to the people. we were told that Imperial has rented the cars to the government, maybe that one is right. The question is, during tenure of use 1 Who was paying that rental fees.2 if its the said officer i dont have any problem rightfully they belong with them, but if it was the state no those cars belongs with me as taxpayer.
Mamphono has just sold her car and exchange it for VOlvo c90. what do we call that professor and your team of inteligents who believes taht they are the only intelligents in this country
I recommend Hon Masemene to make jails more comfortable for he will be there next time. Make sure there are televisions and good sleeping beds for you and your colleaugues will be there next year after elections

Actually to cut a long story short please go to www.abc.org.ls for the downlow on Uncle Tom and his party (i believe that this is a first in local politics i.e. a party with a website...now imagine what Tom will do when he assumes power in 2007? the man has chebelopele... come on you've got to grant him at least that) joale taba tsena tsa li Volvo C90 liantlhatsisa! sies! 'Mamphono u e rekisitse ka bokae Merc ea M4000.00 ? ke sure it was at a much higher price...if there's any justice in the world anonymous they all have to go to jail u oa bolela.

I know of a Principal Secretary who sold his Camry for about R150,000.00. There is no way 'Mamphono could not have sold her Merc at a market related price. This is "profiteering", unfortunately at our expense.

Linyonts'a ruri!
